Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Oil and Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 2.99%, while the MICEX index declined 2.21%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY), which rose 5.12% or 23.70 points to trade at 487.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Mos obl sb (MCX:MSRS) added 1.83% or 0.0200 points to end at 1.1100 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) was up 1.49% or 1.120 points to 76.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which fell 6.43% or 0.0397 points to trade at 0.5780 at the close. Pharmstandard JSC (MCX:PHST) declined 5.91% or 65.0 points to end at 1035.0 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was down 5.47% or 4.77 points to 82.50.
The top performers on the MICEX were DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) which rose 5.12% to 487.00, Mos obl sb (MCX:MSRS) which was up 1.83% to settle at 1.1100 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) which gained 1.49% to close at 76.120.
The worst performers were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) which was down 6.43% to 0.5780 in late trade, Pharmstandard JSC (MCX:PHST) which lost 5.91% to settle at 1035.0 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) which was down 5.47% to 82.50 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 132 to 59 and 6 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of RTSI options, was up 3.18% to 51.920.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1152.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 4.12% or 1.94 to hit $45.11 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 2.69% or 1.53 to trade at $55.55 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.70% to 61.805, while EUR/RUB rose 0.02% to 64.976.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.89% at 100.00.
