Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 5.65% or 0.0064 points to trade at 0.1194 at the close. Meanwhile, Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 4.17% or 0.0245 points to end at 0.6125 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 2.01% or 0.505 points to 25.640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRO), which fell 2.53% or 23 points to trade at 887 at the close. DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) declined 1.53% or 4.90 points to end at 316.00 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) was down 0.67% or 2.00 points to 295.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 118 to 95 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in FSK EES (MCX:FEES) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.65% or 0.0064 to 0.1194. Shares in MMK (MCX:MAGN) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.01% or 0.505 to 25.640.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.09% to 34.830.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.73% or 21.65 to $1229.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.94% or 0.45 to hit $48.53 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.23 to trade at $48.58 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.39% to 66.5679, while EUR/RUB fell 1.43% to 74.221.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 95.56.
