Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Manufacturing and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.83% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Sberbank (MCX:SBER), which rose 3.81% or 5.92 points to trade at 161.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) added 3.27% or 3.74 points to end at 118.24 and Akron (MCX:AKRN) was up 2.87% or 95.0 points to 3410.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which fell 3.02% or 0.1205 points to trade at 3.8695 at the close. DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) declined 2.65% or 8.00 points to end at 294.00 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was down 1.80% or 3.70 points to 202.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 121 to 95 and 23 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.42% to 24.120.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.38% or 4.50 to $1183.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.95 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.01% to 64.4725, while EUR/RUB rose 0.33% to 68.034.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 101.75.
