Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Lukoil (MCX:LKOH), which rose 2.38% or 71.5 points to trade at 3082.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Rosneft (MCX:ROSN) added 2.31% or 7.90 points to end at 349.20 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 1.99% or 6.35 points to 325.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which fell 2.00% or 0.440 points to trade at 21.570 at the close. Akron (MCX:AKRN) declined 1.88% or 65.0 points to end at 3385.0 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was down 1.58% or 12.50 points to 779.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 125 to 115 and 22 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.42% to 26.530.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.08% or 1.05 to $1322.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.49% or 1.17 to hit $48.22 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.23% or 1.10 to trade at $50.34 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.15% to 62.9210, while EUR/RUB rose 0.03% to 70.737.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 95.27.
