Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Power, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX), which rose 4.27% or 4.82 points to trade at 117.65 at the close. Meanwhile, AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) added 3.96% or 5700 points to end at 149700 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was up 3.12% or 0.620 points to 20.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE), which fell 2.66% or 77.0 points to trade at 2820.0 at the close. Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) declined 1.61% or 14.5 points to end at 886.0 and Polyus Zoloto OAO (MCX:PLZL) was down 1.42% or 62.0 points to 4316.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 131 to 94 and 24 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.58% to 24.180.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.81% or 10.25 to $1273.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.13% or 0.57 to hit $49.95 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.24% or 0.64 to trade at $50.82 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.13% to 62.1054, while EUR/RUB rose 0.08% to 67.614.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.70.
