Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which rose 5.80% or 508.0 points to trade at 9261.0 at the close. Meanwhile, NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) added 4.15% or 3.37 points to end at 84.52 and Sberbank (MCX:SBER) was up 1.98% or 2.61 points to 134.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON), which fell 5.98% or 42.00 points to trade at 660.00 at the close. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) declined 4.84% or 0.0079 points to end at 0.1555 and AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) was down 3.00% or 4800 points to 155300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 108 to 93 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) fell to 3-years lows; down 5.98% or 42.00 to 660.00.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 5.32% to 32.050.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.44% or 5.95 to $1356.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.35% or 0.16 to hit $45.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.25 to trade at $46.65 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.97% to 63.9349, while EUR/RUB fell 1.15% to 70.608.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.40.
