Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Power, Mining and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which rose 8.72% or 0.1500 points to trade at 1.8700 at the close. Meanwhile, Magnit (MCX:MGNT) added 4.36% or 394.0 points to end at 9430.0 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) was up 3.71% or 2.730 points to 76.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRO), which fell 2.70% or 25 points to trade at 900 at the close. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) declined 1.94% or 57.0 points to end at 2875.0 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) was down 1.50% or 0.330 points to 21.600.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 113 to 102 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) rose to 3-years highs; up 8.72% or 0.1500 to 1.8700. Shares in ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.71% or 2.730 to 76.220.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.53% to 33.590.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.31% or 3.95 to $1276.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.22% or 1.49 to hit $47.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.66% or 1.27 to trade at $49.10 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.91% to 64.8578, while EUR/RUB fell 0.71% to 73.500.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 94.45.
