Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Power, Manufacturing and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR), which rose 4.98% or 0.0319 points to trade at 0.6729 at the close. Meanwhile, MMK (MCX:MAGN) added 4.47% or 0.930 points to end at 21.739 and Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) was up 3.38% or 5.40 points to 165.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which fell 1.55% or 9.30 points to trade at 589.50 at the close. MTS (MCX:MTSS) declined 1.54% or 3.35 points to end at 214.25 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) was down 1.41% or 0.800 points to 56.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 109 to 100 and 12 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.45% to 33.200 a new 1-month low.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.39% or 4.60 to $1177.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.48% or 0.22 to hit $46.06 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.12 to trade at $48.48 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.50% to 62.079, while EUR/RUB fell 0.38% to 70.465.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 94.83.
