Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Power, Manufacturing and Oil and Gas sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, the RTSI rose 2.55%, while the MICEX index climbed 0.07%.

The best performers of the session on the RTSI were Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA), which rose 6.54% or 11.50 points to trade at 187.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) added 5.42% or 90.0 points to end at 1750.0 and Bashneft ANK ap (pref) (MCX:BANE_p) was up 4.72% or 58.0 points to 1287.0 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which fell 4.23% or 0.0700 points to trade at 1.5850 at the close. RDR United Company RUSAL PLC (MCX:RUALR) declined 4.18% or 20.10 points to end at 461.00 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) was down 2.75% or 28.00 points to 989.00.

The top performers on the MICEX were Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) which rose 6.54% to 187.45, Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) which was up 5.42% to settle at 1750.0 and Bashneft ANK ap (pref) (MCX:BANE_p) which gained 4.72% to close at 1287.0.

The worst performers were NMTP (MCX:NMTP) which was down 4.23% to 1.5850 in late trade, RDR United Company RUSAL PLC (MCX:RUALR) which lost 4.18% to settle at 461.00 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) which was down 2.75% to 989.00 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 83 to 75 and 3 ended unchanged.

Gold for April delivery was up 0.17% or 2.10 to $1203.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 0.39% or 0.20 to hit $51.33 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract rose 0.44% or 0.27 to trade at $60.81 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 1.63% to 60.825, while EUR/RUB fell 2.21% to 67.113.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 96.48.
