Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 2.84% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which fell 0.55% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.546 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) fell 0.63% or 0.0070 points to end at 1.1050 and REN (LS:RENE) was down 0.76% or 0.0200 points to 2.5970 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 8.18% or 0.0018 points to trade at 0.0202 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 6.21% or 0.0540 points to end at 0.8150 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was down 5.87% or 0.1690 points to 2.7080.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 43 to 4 and 3 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.55% or 0.28 to $50.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.57% or 0.28 to hit $48.79 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.97% or 12.35 to trade at $1288.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1286, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.7933.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 94.43.
