Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 2.41%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP), which rose 0.33% or 0.0400 points to trade at 12.1250 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) added 0.21% or 0.0030 points to end at 1.4530 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) was down 0.92% or 0.0285 points to 3.0615 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which fell 5.27% or 0.0049 points to trade at 0.0880 at the close. Sonae (LISBON:YSO) declined 4.03% or 0.0515 points to end at 1.2265 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) was down 3.68% or 0.04 points to 0.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 55 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 2.39% or 1.58 to $68.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.14% or 1.85 to hit $60.78 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.46% or 5.40 to trade at $1192.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1191, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.7368.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 95.20.
