Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.84%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS), which fell 0.11% or 0.0080 points to trade at 7.3120 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP (LISBON:EDP) fell 0.25% or 0.0080 points to end at 3.1590 and EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) was down 0.54% or 0.0310 points to 5.7500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which fell 5.66% or 0.0027 points to trade at 0.0450 at the close. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) declined 4.13% or 0.1510 points to end at 3.5090 and J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) was down 3.63% or 0.4350 points to 11.5550.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 47 to 4 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.66% or 0.0027 to 0.0450.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 2.60% or 1.26 to $47.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.87% or 1.31 to hit $44.39 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.08% or 12.40 to trade at $1133.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1241, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.7395.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 96.06.
