Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.24%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which rose 3.33% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0030 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) added 2.46% or 0.0260 points to end at 1.0820 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.70% or 0.0700 points to 4.1780 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 6.01% or 0.0035 points to trade at 0.0547 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 2.35% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.3320 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was down 2.34% or 0.2400 points to 10.0000.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 39 to 17.

Shares in Banif SA (LS:BANIF) rose to all time lows; rising 3.33% or 0.0001 to 0.0030.

Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.41% or 0.69 to $48.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.14% or 0.99 to hit $45.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.98% or 11.50 to trade at $1166.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1342, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.7345.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.03.
