Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.17% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which rose 1.45% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0070 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) added 0.33% or 0.0350 points to end at 10.6900 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 0.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which fell 5.12% or 0.1315 points to trade at 2.4345 at the close. Sonae (LISBON:YSO) declined 2.55% or 0.0305 points to end at 1.1655 and EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) was down 2.15% or 0.1440 points to 6.5680.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 48 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.54% or 0.34 to $61.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.43% or 0.25 to hit $57.75 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.66% or 7.70 to trade at $1167.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.12% to 1.1113, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.7278.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.00% at 96.44.
