Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 5.17% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.610 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 3.50% or 0.229 points to end at 6.779 and Portucel (LS:PTI) was up 1.90% or 0.0620 points to 3.3320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 3.60% or 0.0016 points to trade at 0.0428 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 3.55% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.1360 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 2.10% or 0.0130 points to 0.6060.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 33 to 15 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.35% or 0.14 to $40.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.85% or 0.34 to hit $39.45 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1221.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1175, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.7884.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.13.
