Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 0.90% or 0.080 points to trade at 8.940 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 0.65% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0155 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which fell 2.11% or 0.1240 points to trade at 5.7450 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.96% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.2500 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 1.60% or 0.0500 points to 3.0800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 34 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) rose to all time highs; up 0.90% or 0.080 to 8.940. Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.11% or 0.1240 to 5.7450.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.18% or 0.61 to $52.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.00% or 0.50 to hit $50.33 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.10% or 13.95 to trade at $1254.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1159, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8825.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.60.
