Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 1.22% or 0.0400 points to trade at 3.3300 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.16% or 0.0990 points to end at 8.6500 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.85% or 0.0630 points to 7.4480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which fell 5.09% or 0.5120 points to trade at 9.5530 at the close. Banif SA (LS:BANIF) declined 4.00% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0024 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 3.75% or 0.0019 points to 0.0487.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 32 to 19 and 1 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 1.78% or 0.79 to $44.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.15% or 0.48 to hit $42.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1076.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.82% to 1.0646, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.7008.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 99.67.
