Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 1.11% or 0.0002 points to trade at 0.0182 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 0.09% or 0.0100 points to end at 11.7600 and EDP (LS:EDP) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 3.0090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which fell 2.08% or 0.1390 points to trade at 6.5460 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 1.42% or 0.0510 points to end at 3.5470 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 0.95% or 0.0160 points to 1.6750.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 33 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.08% or 0.1390 to 6.5460.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.94% or 0.46 to $49.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.71% or 0.33 to hit $47.10 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.34% or 4.55 to trade at $1325.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1277, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.8556.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 94.75.
