Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu), which rose 2.39% or 0.1530 points to trade at 6.5420 at the close. Meanwhile, Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) added 2.26% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.5430 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) was up 1.96% or 0.0670 points to 3.4860 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which fell 1.89% or 0.0015 points to trade at 0.0780 at the close. Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) declined 1.70% or 0.0180 points to end at 1.0380 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was down 1.54% or 0.0001 points to 0.0064.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 36 to 29 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.80% or 0.49 to $62.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.90% or 0.51 to hit $57.47 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.48% or 5.60 to trade at $1163.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1089, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.7104.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.26.
