Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 1.40% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.7960 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.35% or 0.0780 points to end at 5.8580 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.57% or 0.0850 points to 14.9050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 6.15% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.1680 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.89% or 0.2350 points to end at 12.2150 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was down 1.11% or 0.090 points to 8.038.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 30 to 20 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 3.74% or 1.84 to $47.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.95% or 1.86 to hit $45.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.36% or 4.30 to trade at $1186.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.0632, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.8506.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 101.11.
