Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.26% or 0.0990 points to trade at 1.9800 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 3.81% or 0.0250 points to end at 0.6820 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.51% or 0.2200 points to 14.7550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 2.09% or 0.0008 points to trade at 0.0374 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.38% or 0.1100 points to end at 7.8390 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 0.83% or 0.0950 points to 11.4100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 25 to 19 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.81% or 0.0250 to 0.6820. Shares in J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.51% or 0.2200 to 14.7550.
Brent oil for June delivery was down 2.12% or 0.93 to $42.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.70% or 1.12 to hit $40.38 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.74% or 9.10 to trade at $1235.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1309, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7945.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 94.53.
