Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.84% or 0.0005 points to trade at 0.0181 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 1.11% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.1820 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 0.33% or 0.0100 points to 3.0100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which fell 3.65% or 0.302 points to trade at 7.968 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 2.46% or 0.1700 points to end at 6.7350 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 1.26% or 0.0080 points to 0.6250.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 19 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.46% or 0.1700 to 6.7350.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.36% or 0.67 to $49.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.08% or 0.51 to hit $47.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.45 to trade at $1343.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8576.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.44.
