Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 2.31%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 9.78% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.1010 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 4.12% or 0.2890 points to end at 7.2990 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 4.00% or 0.0007 points to 0.0182 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which fell 1.38% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.501 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) added 0.14% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.7080 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 0.83% or 0.0090 points to 1.0980.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 38 to 7 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; falling 1.38% or 0.007 to 0.501.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.30% or 1.10 to $48.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.42% or 1.12 to hit $47.45 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.55% or 7.35 to trade at $1317.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1055, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8293.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 96.31.
