Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 2.03%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 5.43% or 0.0017 points to trade at 0.0330 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 5.29% or 0.5500 points to end at 10.9500 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 3.30% or 0.0380 points to 1.1910 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which fell 1.13% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.6130 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.96% or 0.065 points to end at 6.705 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 0.41% or 0.0120 points to 2.9250.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 40 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 6.47% or 2.55 to $41.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.90% or 2.57 to hit $39.83 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.40% or 5.00 to trade at $1242.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1410, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8077.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 94.19.
