Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.21%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 5.88% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.1620 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP (LS:EDP) added 3.34% or 0.0890 points to end at 2.7530 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 2.51% or 0.0130 points to 0.5300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which fell 0.79% or 0.0540 points to trade at 6.8110 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 0.24% or 0.0070 points to end at 2.9000 and REN (LS:RENE) was 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 2.5800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 12 and 9 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 2.87% or 1.40 to $47.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.83% or 1.34 to hit $46.09 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.54% or 7.35 to trade at $1359.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1061, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8562.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 96.31.
