Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 6.97% or 0.0026 points to trade at 0.0399 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 2.86% or 0.1760 points to end at 6.3360 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.54% or 0.1850 points to 12.2050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were REN (LS:RENE), which fell 4.01% or 0.1100 points to trade at 2.6300 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 2.72% or 0.0190 points to end at 0.6800 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 0.98% or 0.0180 points to 1.8200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 23 to 21 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.54% or 0.1850 to 12.2050.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.87% or 0.41 to $47.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.75% or 0.34 to hit $45.67 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.20% or 15.05 to trade at $1265.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.7763.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 93.87.
