Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.94% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 3.47% or 0.1100 points to trade at 3.2830 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae (LS:YSO) added 2.75% or 0.0190 points to end at 0.7110 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 2.20% or 0.2750 points to 12.7850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which fell 1.67% or 0.161 points to trade at 9.499 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.71% or 0.0130 points to end at 1.8100 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 0.58% or 0.0001 points to 0.0170.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 35 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.38% or 1.23 to $52.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.90% or 1.46 to hit $51.75 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.60% or 7.55 to trade at $1270.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.0964, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 97.93.
