Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 4.61% or 0.5300 points to trade at 12.0300 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP (LS:EDP) added 1.82% or 0.0480 points to end at 2.6850 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.68% or 0.2450 points to 14.7950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 11.48% or 0.0240 points to trade at 0.1850 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.84% or 0.0900 points to end at 3.0750 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was down 1.83% or 0.1040 points to 5.5700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 23 to 22 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 4.32% or 1.92 to $46.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 4.69% or 2.03 to hit $45.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.35% or 4.30 to trade at $1226.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.0730, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8631.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 100.14.
