Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 3.89% or 0.0007 points to trade at 0.0187 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae (LS:YSO) added 3.67% or 0.0240 points to end at 0.6780 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 1.65% or 0.0470 points to 2.9020 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which fell 1.19% or 0.095 points to trade at 7.855 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 0.55% or 0.0380 points to end at 6.8220 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was down 0.54% or 0.0800 points to 14.8350.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 2.55% or 1.13 to $45.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.94% or 1.23 to hit $43.03 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.55 to trade at $1342.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1079, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8497.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 96.36.
