Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 2.43% or 0.2850 points to trade at 12.0150 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.47% or 0.0520 points to end at 3.5790 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 1.24% or 0.0860 points to 7.0250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 1.65% or 0.0003 points to trade at 0.0179 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 0.56% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.1790 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 0.29% or 0.0050 points to 1.7430.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 30 to 18 and 8 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.79% or 0.89 to $50.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.76% or 1.29 to hit $48.08 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.45% or 6.05 to trade at $1354.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8619.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 94.29.
