Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 3.61% or 0.0007 points to trade at 0.0201 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 3.12% or 0.0840 points to end at 2.7720 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 2.41% or 0.1350 points to 5.7370 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 1.50% or 0.0260 points to trade at 1.7030 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.46% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.6740 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was down 1.07% or 0.0120 points to 1.1090.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 17 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.63% or 0.77 to $46.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.84% or 0.84 to hit $44.91 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.88% or 11.65 to trade at $1330.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1012, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8334.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 97.02.
