Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 4.17% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.1750 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 2.40% or 0.0170 points to end at 0.7240 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 2.19% or 0.3150 points to 14.6700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 2.82% or 0.0327 points to trade at 1.1251 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.00% or 0.0570 points to end at 5.6640 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was down 0.95% or 0.0560 points to 5.8540.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 29 to 19 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.40% or 0.0170 to 0.7240.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.94% or 0.51 to $54.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.46% or 0.24 to hit $51.92 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.56% or 6.55 to trade at $1171.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.82% to 1.0750, while EUR/GBP rose 0.91% to 0.8458.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.51% at 100.24.
