Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.20% or 0.0570 points to trade at 1.8380 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 2.43% or 0.0810 points to end at 3.4100 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 2.11% or 0.0230 points to 1.1110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 3.50% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1380 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.36% or 0.0009 points to end at 0.0373 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 0.57% or 0.0040 points to 0.6990.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.40% or 0.64 to $46.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.25% or 0.55 to hit $44.59 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.62% or 7.65 to trade at $1251.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1324, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.7782.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.37.
