Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.86% or 0.0660 points to trade at 1.7770 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.99% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.1380 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 2.65% or 0.2900 points to 11.2200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which fell 0.55% or 0.0800 points to trade at 14.4900 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 0.54% or 0.0350 points to end at 6.4160 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 0.49% or 0.0030 points to 0.6100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 19 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.79% or 0.75 to $42.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.44% or 0.57 to hit $40.29 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.29% or 16.00 to trade at $1259.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1416, while EUR/GBP fell 0.76% to 0.8017.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 93.94.
