Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 3.48% or 0.0960 points to trade at 2.8540 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.29% or 0.1130 points to end at 3.5500 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.29% or 0.0152 points to 1.1902 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 2.88% or 0.0460 points to trade at 1.5510 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.62% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1820 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 0.30% or 0.0080 points to 2.6920.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 21 and 9 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.10% or 0.05 to $49.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $47.99 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.65 to trade at $1183.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0559, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8477.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 101.75.
