Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 9.63% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.1480 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.79% or 0.124 points to end at 7.049 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.57% or 0.0530 points to 3.4280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 1.56% or 0.0005 points to trade at 0.0315 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 0.97% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.6140 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 0.83% or 0.0150 points to 1.7840.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 33 to 12 and 10 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.72% or 0.36 to $50.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.59% or 0.29 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.76% or 9.20 to trade at $1207.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1138, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.7610.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.72.
