Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 17.28% or 0.0330 points to trade at 0.2240 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.87% or 0.150 points to end at 8.190 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.22% or 0.0370 points to 3.0820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which fell 3.04% or 0.0340 points to trade at 1.0850 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.12% or 0.0004 points to end at 0.0185 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was down 0.88% or 0.0550 points to 6.2140.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 33 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.45% or 0.68 to $47.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.24% or 0.99 to hit $45.14 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.70 to trade at $1330.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1153, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8375.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 95.73.
