Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.26% or 0.0380 points to trade at 1.7210 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.53% or 0.0400 points to end at 2.6600 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.44% or 0.0460 points to 3.2410 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 2.82% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1720 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 2.02% or 0.0130 points to end at 0.6300 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was down 1.24% or 0.0140 points to 1.1120.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 27 to 18 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae (LS:YSO) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.02% or 0.0130 to 0.6300.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.62% or 0.77 to $46.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.67% or 0.78 to hit $45.87 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.65 to trade at $1329.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1067, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8345.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.60.
