Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 3.59% or 0.0014 points to trade at 0.0404 at the close. Meanwhile, Montepio (LS:MPIO) added 1.56% or 0.009 points to end at 0.585 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.25% or 0.0380 points to 3.0760 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which fell 2.48% or 0.3650 points to trade at 14.3800 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 2.45% or 0.2800 points to end at 11.1400 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was down 1.41% or 0.0020 points to 0.1400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 27 to 22 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.84% or 0.82 to $45.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.69% or 0.73 to hit $43.91 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.17% or 14.60 to trade at $1235.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.1227, while EUR/GBP fell 0.95% to 0.7806.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 95.10.
