Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.22% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.75% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.6400 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.60% or 0.2100 points to end at 13.3450 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.58% or 0.0110 points to 0.7070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 1.68% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1760 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 0.58% or 0.0420 points to end at 7.1580 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 0.52% or 0.0001 points to 0.0191.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 33 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.60% or 0.2100 to 13.3450.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.76% or 0.81 to $46.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.12% or 0.92 to hit $44.41 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.24% or 3.30 to trade at $1346.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1169, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8650.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.63.
