Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.08% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 2.06% or 0.2900 points to trade at 14.3600 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.50% or 0.1650 points to end at 11.1900 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.33% or 0.0400 points to 3.0400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 3.47% or 0.0007 points to trade at 0.0195 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 2.59% or 0.3250 points to end at 12.2100 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 1.61% or 0.0110 points to 0.6720.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 26 to 20 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.39% or 1.10 to $44.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.72% or 1.20 to hit $42.99 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.45 to trade at $1328.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.0985, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8364.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 97.36.
