Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 4.03% or 0.0290 points to trade at 0.7480 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.93% or 0.1150 points to end at 6.0740 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 1.74% or 0.0300 points to 1.7510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which fell 1.87% or 0.2750 points to trade at 14.4650 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.33% or 0.1750 points to end at 13.0300 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 1.27% or 0.1500 points to 11.7000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 22 to 21 and 8 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 3.39% or 1.65 to $47.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.37% or 1.56 to hit $44.79 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.34% or 4.45 to trade at $1312.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1163, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 95.96.
