Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Energy, Banking and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.51%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 3.57% or 2.60 points to trade at 75.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 2.81% or 1.12 points to end at 41.00 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 1.75% or 0.54 points to 31.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 4.27% or 0.78 points to trade at 17.48 at the close. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) declined 3.34% or 5.65 points to end at 163.35 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was down 3.24% or 1.00 points to 29.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 329 to 214 and 109 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.07% or 0.55 to $50.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.81% or 0.47 to hit $56.63 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 2.03% or 23.00 to trade at $1108.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.46% to 4.1253, while USD/PLN rose 0.24% to 3.8016.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 98.00.
