Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Media, Banking and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 7.58% or 0.80 points to trade at 11.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Energa SA (WA:ENGP) added 0.81% or 0.11 points to end at 13.71 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was up 0.54% or 0.24 points to 44.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were mBank SA (WA:MBK), which fell 3.59% or 11.65 points to trade at 313.00 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 3.01% or 7.95 points to end at 256.00 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 2.52% or 0.55 points to 21.24.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 337 to 185 and 160 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.33% or 0.72 to $30.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.78% or 0.60 to hit $33.45 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 3.04% or 35.20 to trade at $1192.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.98% to 4.4485, while USD/PLN rose 0.89% to 3.9838.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.89.
