Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Construction and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 0.96% or 0.19 points to trade at 19.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 0.95% or 0.21 points to end at 22.38 and Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) was up 0.57% or 0.90 points to 159.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 5.84% or 5.20 points to trade at 83.81 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 4.04% or 0.17 points to end at 4.04 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 3.96% or 0.65 points to 15.78.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 363 to 171 and 131 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.59% or 1.07 to $40.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.54% or 1.19 to hit $45.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.46% or 5.30 to trade at $1158.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.67% to 4.2180, while USD/PLN fell 0.30% to 3.7153.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.78% at 95.02.
