Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Banking and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.93% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 2.93% or 0.19 points to trade at 6.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 1.72% or 0.10 points to end at 5.92 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.49% or 1.05 points to 71.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 4.34% or 3.36 points to trade at 74.14 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 3.31% or 6.00 points to end at 175.00 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was down 2.76% or 0.94 points to 33.06.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 328 to 228 and 103 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.51% or 1.50 to $58.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.74% or 1.79 to hit $63.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.44% or 17.40 to trade at $1187.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 1.07% to 4.1488, while USD/PLN rose 2.01% to 3.8142.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.94% at 97.36.
