Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Energy and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.76% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.43% or 1.97 points to trade at 83.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 0.89% or 0.06 points to end at 6.77 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 0.41% or 0.10 points to 24.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which fell 2.18% or 2.03 points to trade at 90.94 at the close. OrangePL (WA:OPL) declined 2.16% or 0.18 points to end at 8.17 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was down 1.74% or 118.00 points to 6660.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 327 to 195 and 124 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.18% or 2.03 to 90.94.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.28% or 1.30 to $55.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.62% or 1.62 to hit $60.45 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.34% or 3.90 to trade at $1167.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.00% to 4.1917, while USD/PLN fell 0.13% to 3.7765.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.20.
