Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Basic Materials and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 5.00% or 0.79 points to trade at 16.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 2.55% or 0.12 points to end at 4.82 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 1.94% or 0.49 points to 25.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW), which fell 4.33% or 16.40 points to trade at 362.10 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.10% or 2.48 points to end at 77.61 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 2.72% or 0.65 points to 23.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 303 to 274 and 97 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.48% or 0.86 to $58.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.40% or 0.90 to hit $64.92 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.21% or 2.50 to trade at $1209.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.82% to 4.0842, while USD/PLN rose 1.37% to 3.6834.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 95.70.
