Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Media, Telecoms and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 2.11%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 5.82% or 1.17 points to trade at 21.26 at the close. Meanwhile, OrangePL (WA:OPL) added 4.75% or 0.25 points to end at 5.51 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 4.37% or 11.40 points to 272.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 0.98% or 0.71 points to trade at 71.69 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) declined 0.73% or 0.05 points to end at 6.80 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 0.32% or 0.17 points to 52.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 295 to 201 and 173 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.70% or 1.31 to $49.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.70% or 1.33 to hit $50.50 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.53% or 6.85 to trade at $1287.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.51% to 4.3895, while USD/PLN fell 0.89% to 3.8777.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.64% at 93.70.
