Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Energy and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.72%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 5.13% or 0.23 points to trade at 4.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 5.09% or 4.11 points to end at 84.90 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 4.76% or 0.67 points to 14.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 1.13% or 0.60 points to trade at 52.30 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 0.59% or 0.07 points to end at 11.85 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 0.34% or 0.02 points to 5.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 270 to 246 and 128 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.88% or 0.91 to $47.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.38% or 0.73 to hit $52.58 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.56% or 6.10 to trade at $1094.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.18% to 4.1504, while USD/PLN fell 0.71% to 3.7630.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.62% at 97.00.
